Earlier this year, Recipieces launched in the Greater Toronto Area and we couldn’t be happier! When it comes to cooking, I’m a bit of a disaster in the kitchen (unless I’m baking) and simple meals are always my go-to. Enter Recipieces, a service founded by food lovers with a simple mission — the opportunity to cook gourmet meals in the comfort in your own home!
Personally, I think this is a pretty fantastic idea because they provide you with all the ingredients which means you don’t have to buy anything new at the grocery store and you don’t have to measure anything out. Everything is pre-portioned except for the ingredients you need to cut or have to add to taste. Included in the kit is also easy to read instructions, suggested utensils and tips for the cooking noob like myself.
For our first kit we decided to make Pan Seared Sea Scallops with Champagne Citrus Beurre Blanc accompanied with Sesame Scallion Fried Rice. A bit of an odd combo but we went with it anyway and it was delicious.
Things We Liked:
- Carefully labeled ingredients
- Easy to follow instructions (definitely do a read through before starting)
- Fresh ingredients delivered to your doorstep (in a cute box with a freezer pack to keep things fresh & cool)
- Great menu selection of entrées and side dishes to choose
One downside is you have to order a minimum of 2 servings so if you’re thinking of cooking for one, you’ll still have to order for two. Date night, anyone?
Give it a go and let us know how your Recipieces meal turned out!
