Just for the Ladies: Summer Bikini Guide 2013

Hey Dino Ladies!! Who’s excited for hot weather? I AM!! So let’s kick off the upcoming summer with a BIKINI GUIDE!!! Before we jump into the good stuff, let me just say that I have been doing some total-body workouts via BLOGILATES. She has been killing my muscles but if you wanna look like a babe, you gotta train like a beast! So skip the diets, eat healthy, do some Pop Pilates and get that bikini bod. Trust me, you’ll love how hard she works you. In the wise words of Kellye Cross, “sweat is fat crying”.

Speaking of bikinis and bodies, I’ve compiled a bikini guide to help you find the perfect swimsuit! I’ve broken it down to the different body shapes so that you can easily find a silhouette that fits you.

Body Type: Apple

Apple shapes like Katy Perry or Catherine Zeta-Jones have shoulders and waists that are perfectly balanced. With this shape, you want to highlight your lean legs by wearing high-waist bottoms that will help shape your tummy area, which may not be as toned. Folded bottoms are great for hiding muffin tops. Tops that are halter style will create a defined neckline.

Body Type: Athletic/Boy

My all time favourite actresses, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Hudson are excellent examples of athletic or boy shaped figures. With slender and toned frames, you want to add volume to give your body some shape. Flirty frills, ruffles and bold prints help create the illusion of curves while adding a touch of femininity. For this shape, you can honestly benefit from showing more skin – string bikinis are a great way to show off your body but keep the print looking fun!

Body Type: Hourglass

If you’ve got a body like Dita Von Teese or Scarlett Johansson, find a suit that has good upper support. Luckily, you’ve been naturally granted a boobalicious bod with a tiny waist so you really want to make sure those ladies are lifted and in place! Halter style or tops with an underwire will give you the upper support you need and folded bottoms are a great way to hide bigger bottoms.

Body Type: Pear

For my ladies who are pear shaped like Rihanna and Eva Longoria, you really want to look for a swimsuit that will accentuate your waist rather than your thighs and butt. If you prefer a one piece or takinis to bikinis, opt for one that has a belt or ribbon that cinches your waist. However, if you’re a bikini lover, choose a top that has details that will draw the eye upward and away from your bottom. Also, try mixing bright coloured tops with dark or plain bottoms!

Body Type: Petite

Small but beautiful petite frames like Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman want to elongate their legs! Like the apple shaped females, you want to wear high cut bottoms to make your legs look longer! Tops with deep necklines or asymmetrical styles are also great for creating a sense of proportion.

As always, I hope you find the perfect swimsuit that will make you look and feel fabulous this summer! Happy shopping Pretty Ladies and don’t forget to wear sunscreen to protect your skin!
