Concert Highlights: Train @ Sony Centre

On July 11, I made my way to the Sony Centre of Performing Arts to attend one of the best concerts I have ever been to in my life. I’m a huge concert junkie so who could resist an invite by Dinosaurus Rex blogger, Chris, to see Train sing live?

Train 1

Being surrounded by old and young alike, the Train concert definitely attracted a huge variety of people. Their set kicked off with ’50 Ways to Say Goodbye’ and before the first note was even played, everyone was on their feet. With the exception of the music, the only other sounds you could hear were fans cheering, audience members singing, and choruses of excited remarks! The atmosphere was so infectious that even I rocked out for my favourite song.

Train 2

Some memorable moments of the night included a flashback to 1999 with ‘Meet Virigina’ — an oldie but still a favie; and, watching lead singer Patrick Monahan take pictures of himself with the front row during ‘Save Me, San Francisco’. Unfortunately I was not lucky enough to be in the front row but I did happen to spot myself in one of the Twitter photos he took at the beginning of the night. Though, to be honest, that was a bit of a ‘Where’s Waldo?’ quest. Oh, and how could I forget to mention the fact that two lucky fans were invited onto the stage to receive signed guitars and personal encouragements to learn to play?! :)

By the end of the night, I definitely couldn’t think of 50 Ways to Say Goodbye but it was a great show and everyone had fun!
