I’m on a boat!
One of my favourite places in Toronto is the harbour. I sometimes forget how spoiled us Torontonians are for having such easy access to a waterfront. Summer is affront and it’s time to put on your sailor hats and enjoy the breezy weather!
Last Friday June 8th, Epic Cruises held their summer kick-off party to celebrate the re-launch of their newly renovated boat, the River Gambler. The 110 foot party boat boasts a fully licensed bar, DJ, incredible view of the cityscape and the largest open deck dance floor in the Toronto Harbour.
I was pretty stoked when we received an invitation to attend this launch. It’s been a couple years since I’ve been on one of these cruises and I’ve been anxious to get back my ‘sea-legs’. Why do I like cruises so much? Blame it on that ridiculous music video by the The Lonely Island.
For the record – we tried our best to re-enact this video…It was definitely a party! With more class of course.
How was the event?
Throughout the night – drinks, food and music were in high abundance on the River Gambler and it was pretty obvious everyone was having a great time. The event was catered by friendly staff and we got a really good sample of the boat’s new food menu which included an awesome Paella and Pork Shoulder. In the end, the boat even held a draw for some great prizes – I ended up winning…twice!
Time to put your sailor hats on!
Whenever I’m at parties like this, I love observing and talking with the attendees. I really enjoyed seeing the variation in age groups of the party goers. These cruises are pretty versatile and can appeal to many different crowds. I have a friend who actually had her Frosh party on the River Gambler a few years ago and another friend who booked her wedding reception with them.
The weather is perfect and the sun is out. It’s summertime – It doesn’t last all year so if you’re in the mood for some nautical fun, book your boat cruise now!
Special thanks go out to Evolution Public Relations for inviting us to the party and to Epic Cruises for hosting a great night.
